Fresh Restaurant- Style Salsa In less than 5 minutes
Hey there, fellow salsa lovers! Would you like to learn how to make the best restaurant-style salsa the local Mexican restaurant serves? The good salsa they bring you when you are being seated. The kind they serve cold along with the warm tortilla chips while you wait for your order.
Isn’t it just the best? Our little family devours that fresh salsa so quickly. They bring it out in little bottles and we have to tell the waiter to bring a couple of the mild salsa bottles because our kids eat it so fast. Our kids get downright annoyed if they think you stole the last of the salsa, so we have to keep plenty there.
The Reason We Make This Fresh Homemade Salsa
Even though their fresh salsa is free, the prices at Mexican restaurants are going up these days. Therefore, we pretty much try to recreate our favorite Mexican dishes at home. It is way cheaper this way. Plus, when you’re feeding 3 hungry boys it is way cheaper to feed them Mexican at home.
I’ll be honest, me and my husband also just enjoy cooking. We love the challenge of trying to recreate restaurant recipes in our very own kitchen. Most of all we just have a great time experimenting until we come up with the copycat flavors of our favorite recipes. It’s quite fun for us.
My husband gets credit for this amazing salsa recipe, though. He searched around and found a recipe he thought would work, then went to the local grocery store and grabbed the ingredients.
We then tweaked the easy salsa recipe here and there to try to find the right amount of ingredients that would work. We finally came up with what we feel is the copycat salsa recipe from our favorite Mexican restaurant. It’s been a great addition to our Taco Tuesday!
So how about it? Do you want to save money and learn how to make the best Mexican restaurant-style salsa? It’s a great salsa to add to your taco bar when you have friends over.
Come along and I will share this easy salsa recipe with you. The best part, it takes less than 5 minutes to throw together. You’ll never have to buy store-bought salsa again.
Before we get started if you are interested in more homemade Mexican recipes, we came up with a copycat Mexican white cheese dip (or queso). I will also put the link at the bottom of this post.

Variations and Additional Thoughts
- If you feel the flavor of the salsa isn’t strong enough, add 1 teaspoon of onion powder with the whole clove of garlic or more garlic powder.
- If you need a big batch that will go further for a party or a get-together double or triple the recipe.
- If you would rather use fresh ingredients, use fresh tomatoes from the garden or a farmer’s market. If you use fresh produce, you may need to add a little salt. But, taste test before you add anything to be sure.
Even though we love all kinds of salsa, this is the best salsa recipe in our opinion. It is the easiest way to have the fresh salsa we love from our favorite Mexican restaurant.
